Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR Evolution III
The 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III represented a significant evolution of the rally-bred sedan formula. The wider bodywork improved aerodynamics and allowed for better cooling, while the 4G63 turbocharged engine produced 270 hp. Advanced all-wheel-drive and active differential systems gave it exceptional handling and traction. The Evo III's success in the World Rally Championship cemented the Evolution's reputation as one of the greatest performance sedans ever created.
Verify it hasn't been rallied or heavily tracked. Many have been modified so finding stock examples is rare. Check for rust in the rear quarter panels. The 4G63 engine is robust but verify turbo and clutch condition. Import paperwork should be verified for USDM buyers.
Built to meet homologation requirements for Group A rallying. The wider body and improved aerodynamics were developed directly from rally experience. Only 5,000 units were required for homologation.
