Ferrari Daytona SP3

The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is the third model in Ferrari's Icona limited-edition series, following the Monza SP1 and SP2. Unveiled at the 2021 Mugello Finals event, the Daytona SP3 pays tribute to Ferrari's legendary 1-2-3 finish at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona with a design that evokes the sensuous curves of 1960s Ferrari sports prototypes, particularly the 330 P3/4 and 512 S.

At the heart of the Daytona SP3 is the most powerful naturally aspirated V12 Ferrari has ever produced. The Tipo F140 HC engine displaces 6,496 cc and develops 840 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 697 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm — surpassing even the 812 Competizione's output. This extraordinary engine sits behind the cockpit in a mid-rear position, a significant departure from the front-engined 812 family. The flat-plane crankshaft V12 revs to a screaming 9,500 rpm redline, producing one of the most intense soundtracks in the automotive world.

The body is a masterwork of design and engineering. Ferrari's Centro Stile created a shape that distills the essence of 1960s Ferrari prototypes into a modern form: the curvaceous flanks, the aggressive rear haunches, the wrap-around windshield, and the distinctive targa roof with a removable carbon fiber panel all reference the golden age of sports car racing. The body panels are carbon fiber, and the monocoque chassis is also carbon fiber — derived from the LaFerrari but extensively revised.

The targa roof configuration — with a removable panel stored behind the seats — allows open-air V12 driving without compromising structural rigidity. Butterfly doors enhance the exotic drama. The interior is minimalist and driver-focused, with carbon fiber racing seats integrated into the monocoque structure to save weight and a stripped-back dashboard.

Suspension uses pushrod-actuated coil springs on all four corners — a layout derived from Formula 1 technology that allows the dampers and springs to be mounted inboard for lower unsprung mass and more precise geometry. The 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and electronic differential are carried over from the 812 family but recalibrated for the mid-engine layout.

Performance is staggering: 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph. More impressively, the Daytona SP3's mid-engine layout, carbon fiber construction, and advanced aerodynamics give it a level of dynamic capability that exceeds any previous Icona series car. The 1,485 kg dry weight makes it significantly lighter than the 812 Superfast.

Only 599 Daytona SP3s will be produced, all allocated to existing Ferrari customers before the car was publicly announced. The $2.25 million list price reflected its exclusivity, but market values have already exceeded that figure significantly, with examples trading for $3.5 million to $5 million on the secondary market.

The Daytona SP3 represents a remarkable achievement: a car that combines cutting-edge technology with genuine emotional resonance, honoring Ferrari's racing heritage while pushing the boundaries of what a naturally aspirated V12 can achieve. It is almost certainly the last pure V12 mid-engine Ferrari without hybridization, making it a future blue-chip collectible of the highest order.

$3,500,000 – $5,000,000

The Daytona SP3 is essentially impossible to buy at list price — all 599 units were allocated to existing Ferrari VIP customers. Secondary market prices range from $3.5 million to $5 million and climbing. At these values, provenance and condition are paramount. Low-mileage, well-specced examples command the highest premiums. The car is too new for significant mechanical issues to have emerged, but Ferrari's standard warranty and maintenance programs apply. Specification matters: unique Tailor Made colors and trims add value. As a limited-production Ferrari with the last pure NA V12, long-term collectibility potential is very high.

Production limited to 599 units, all pre-sold to existing Ferrari VIP customers before public announcement. Deliveries began in late 2022 and continued through 2024. The car uses a carbon fiber monocoque derived from the LaFerrari. The 840 hp V12 is the most powerful naturally aspirated engine Ferrari has ever produced. The Daytona SP3 is the third Icona model after the Monza SP1/SP2 (2018) and follows the tradition of ultra-limited Ferraris (288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, LaFerrari).
