Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ Tubolare Zagato
Built for homologation in GT racing, the Giulia TZ combined Alfa Romeo's legendary twin-cam engine with a revolutionary tubular spaceframe chassis designed by Autodelta and clothed in stunning lightweight bodywork by Zagato. Weighing just 660kg, the TZ achieved remarkable performance from its 112-horsepower 1.6-liter engine, competing successfully against much larger displacement rivals. The TZ dominated its class in period competition and remains one of the most beautiful and desirable Alfa Romeos ever created.
Verify chassis number against factory records. Check tubular frame carefully for damage or corrosion. Original engines are highly desirable. Many have racing histories which should be documented. Restoration quality varies widely.
112 examples were built for homologation purposes. Each car was essentially hand-built by Zagato with slight variations between examples. Many were campaigned extensively in period racing.
