Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale

The Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale was the most driver-focused version of Maserati's acclaimed grand tourer — a car that combined Ferrari-derived V8 power with Italian craftsmanship and one of the most intoxicating exhaust notes in the automotive world. The 4.7-litre V8 was built by Ferrari at Maranello (each engine bearing a plaque signed by its builder), producing 460 bhp with a flat-plane crank that screamed to 7,500 rpm. The MC Stradale stripped away weight, added a quicker-shifting automated manual gearbox, race-derived suspension, and optional carbon-fiber body panels. Pininfarina's design was a masterpiece of proportion — the long hood, curvaceous flanks, and elegant fastback roofline created one of the most beautiful cars of its era. Inside, the GranTurismo was a proper four-seater with Poltrona Frau leather, open-pore wood, and a level of Italian craftsmanship that rivaled any competitor. The MC Stradale name referenced the Maserati Corse racing department's competition experience, and the car was genuinely capable on track while remaining composed on the road. The naturally aspirated V8 made the GranTurismo a sensation in an era of increasingly turbocharged GTs.

$45,000 – $120,000

Ferrari-built V8 is reliable but expensive to maintain. Automated manual (MC-Shift) can be jerky — ZF automatic (2015+) much smoother. Skyhook dampers costly to replace. Electrical gremlins from Fiat-era electronics. MC Stradale holds value best. Check service history — neglected cars are expensive to catch up.

GranTurismo produced 2007-2019. S model from 2008 (4.7L, 440 hp). MC Stradale from 2011 (460 hp). GranTurismo Sport from 2012. MC version with race-derived components. About 28,800 built total.
