Caterham Seven Sprint

The Sprint represented Caterham's accessible entry point into Seven ownership, using Ford's proven 1600cc crossflow engine with twin Weber carburetors. Weighing barely 540kg, even the modest 115 horsepower provided electrifying acceleration and handling. The Sprint embodied Colin Chapman's lightweight philosophy perfectly, offering more smiles per pound than almost any contemporary sports car.

Check space-frame for corrosion and accident damage. Verify engine specifications as many have been modified or swapped. Ensure proper weather equipment if planning road use. Consider ongoing maintenance needs as these require regular attention.

Built throughout the late 1980s as the entry-level Seven variant. Most were sold as complete cars, though kit versions remained available. The Sprint sat below the Supersport in the range, using the less powerful crossflow engine rather than the Twin Cam unit.
