Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R KPGC10 Hakosuka

The 1970 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R KPGC10, nicknamed 'Hakosuka' (box Skyline), is the car that started the GT-R legend. Powered by the hand-built S20 DOHC inline-six producing 160 hp, it dominated Japanese touring car racing with an unprecedented 50-race winning streak. The four-door sedan body disguised its racing pedigree, which included magnesium cam covers, triple carburetors, and motorsport-derived suspension. With only 1,945 produced, pristine examples now command prices exceeding $300,000.

Verify authenticity thoroughly as the GT-R badge has been added to lesser Skylines. Check S20 engine numbers match chassis. Rust in floor pans, sills, and rear quarters is common. Restoration requires extreme expertise and original parts are scarce. Values continue to appreciate rapidly.

Built to homologate Nissan for touring car racing. The S20 engine was hand-assembled and featured advanced technology including DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder, and triple carburetors - exceptional for 1969.
