Lancia Aurelia B20 GT Series IV
The Aurelia B20 GT represented Vittorio Jano's masterwork at Lancia, combining innovative engineering with elegant in-house styling. The compact 60-degree V6 mounted well back in the chassis, with the gearbox integrated into the rear axle assembly for near-perfect weight distribution. Series IV models featured increased displacement to 2.5 liters and modified De Dion rear suspension that provided exceptional handling balance without the complexity of independent rear suspension. These cars dominated their class in international GT racing during the mid-1950s, with victories at events including the Targa Florio and Mille Miglia, while also serving as supremely capable fast touring cars for knowledgeable enthusiasts.
