Siata 208S Spider

Siata (Società Italiana Auto Trasformazioni Accessori) created the 208S as their most ambitious project in the early 1950s. Using Fiat components ingeniously reworked into a V8 configuration, the 208S featured elegant bodywork by various Italian coachbuilders including Stabilimenti Farina and Bertone. The 2.0-liter V8 produced an impressive 120 horsepower, allowing the lightweight roadster to compete with larger-engined rivals. Each example was essentially hand-built, with variations in body styling and mechanical specification making every car unique.

$180,000 – $350,000

Extreme rarity makes finding a 208S a challenge - most are in museums or major collections. Verify chassis number and coachbuilder through Siata registers. The unique V8 engine requires specialist knowledge for maintenance. Body panels are irreplaceable. Documentation and provenance are critical given values. Competition history significantly increases value.

Approximately 35 units produced between 1953-1954 at Siata's Turin facility. Bodies crafted by various coachbuilders including Stabilimenti Farina, Bertone, and Rocco Motto. The V8 engine was created by combining two Fiat 1100 four-cylinder blocks. Most examples were exported to the United States.
