Audi Sport Quattro S1

The Audi Sport Quattro S1 represents the ultimate expression of Group B rally engineering for the road. Built on a shortened Sport Quattro platform, the S1 featured a turbocharged 2.1-liter five-cylinder producing 306 horsepower, massive fender flares, and aggressive aerodynamic addenda. Only 164 examples were produced to meet Group B homologation requirements. With quattro all-wheel drive and lightweight construction, it could accelerate to 100 km/h in under 5 seconds, making it one of the fastest cars of its era.

$450,000 – $750,000

Sport Quattro S1 models rarely appear for sale, commanding $450,000-750,000 when they do. Verify authenticity through factory documentation and VIN records. Check for accident damage as many saw hard use. Turbocharged five-cylinder requires expert maintenance. Original specification is critical for value. Racing provenance adds significant premium.

Exactly 164 units were built in 1985-1986 to meet Group B homologation rules. Each was hand-assembled at Audi's Ingolstadt facility. The shortened wheelbase and widened track distinguished it from the standard Quattro. Production ended when Group B was banned after 1986.
