The 2-seater with 5-speed manual is the driver's choice. The 1978 Black Pearl Edition is the most collectible late S30. Look for rust-free examples from dry climates. The fuel injection system is generally reliable but check the air flow meter and injectors. Many 280Zs have been modified with triple Weber carburetors or turbo conversions. A stock, unmolested 280Z in good condition is increasingly rare and desirable. The 2+2 models are less sought after by collectors but offer more practicality.
