History
Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R (C10)
The first-generation GT-R, known as the Hakosuka, combined Prince Motor Company's refined Skyline chassis with a detuned version of the R380 racing engine. Its twin-cam S20 engine, featuring four Mikuni-Solex carburetors and 7000 rpm capability, was exotic for production cars of the era. The GT-R's racing success created an almost mythical reputation that persists today, establishing the nameplate as Japan's ultimate performance icon. Only 1,945 units were produced, making it one of the most collectible Japanese classics.
