History
Auto Union 1000 SP
Launched in 1958, the Auto Union 1000 SP represented an ambitious attempt to create an affordable sports car for the German market. The elegant coupe body was designed by Baur and featured clean lines influenced by Italian design trends. Despite its modest 55 hp three-cylinder two-stroke engine, the lightweight construction provided spirited performance. Only 5,000 examples were built before production ceased in 1965, making it a rare collectible today.
