Nash Metropolitan

Conceived by Nash-Kelvinator president George Mason, the Metropolitan was designed to fill a niche for economical, city-sized transportation in America. Built by Austin in England, it featured charming styling with standard two-tone paint and chrome accents. Despite modest performance from its 1200cc Austin engine, the Metropolitan gained a devoted following for its economy, maneuverability, and unique character, becoming an icon of 1950s American optimism.

$12,000 – $28,000

Check for rust in floor pans and door sills. Verify two-tone paint is original combination. Engine parts available through Austin A40 suppliers.

Designed in USA but manufactured in England by Austin Motor Company. Originally sold under Nash and Hudson brands before becoming standalone Metropolitan brand.
