The Hyundai Ioniq 6, introduced for the 2023 model year, is an electric sedan that demonstrates how far Korean automotive design and engineering have advanced. With a drag coefficient of just 0.21, it is one of the most aerodynamically efficient production cars ever built, and its striking design, inspired by Hyundai's Prophecy concept car, has earned universal acclaim from the automotive press.

Built on Hyundai's E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform), the Ioniq 6 shares its 800-volt electrical architecture with the Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. This high-voltage system enables charging speeds of up to 350 kW, allowing a 10 to 80 percent charge in approximately 18 minutes at a compatible fast charger. The design was led by SangYup Lee, Hyundai's head of design, who described the car as a 'streamliner' rather than a traditional three-box sedan.

Inside, the Ioniq 6 features a clean, futuristic cabin with dual 12.3-inch displays, ambient lighting that extends across the full width of the dashboard, and sustainable materials including recycled PET bottles and bio-based paints. The flat floor enabled by the skateboard platform provides generous rear legroom despite the swooping roofline.

Driving the Ioniq 6 reveals a car focused on comfort and efficiency rather than outright performance. The ride is smooth, the cabin is exceptionally quiet, and the regenerative braking system with paddle-adjustable levels allows one-pedal driving in urban environments. On the highway, the ultra-low drag coefficient translates directly into impressive range figures.
