Ford Falcon XE ESP
The XE ESP represented Ford Australia's response to changing market demands, combining luxury appointments with genuine performance through electronic fuel injection on the 302 cubic inch V8. While producing a modest 210 horsepower, the fuel injection provided superior driveability and efficiency compared to carbureted competitors. The ESP featured upgraded suspension, sports instrumentation, and distinctive two-tone paint schemes. Though overshadowed by its muscle car predecessors, the XE ESP has gained appreciation as a well-engineered performance sedan that bridged the gap between the raw muscle cars of the 1970s and modern performance vehicles.
