AMC Hurst SC/Rambler A-Scheme

AMC partnered with Hurst Performance to create one of the most outrageous muscle cars ever built. The SC/Rambler took the compact Rambler American body and shoehorned in the 390 cubic inch V8 from the AMX, creating a lightweight rocket that shocked Camaros and Mustangs at stoplights. The A-scheme paint was patriotic red, white and blue, while B-scheme was red, white and black. Every car came with Hurst shifter and functional hood scoop.

$65,000 – $145,000

Verify numbered console plaque and documentation. Many clones exist due to rarity and value. Original paint is crucial - repaints hurt value significantly. The 390 is bulletproof but requires HD clutch. Join AMC clubs for parts sources and authentication help.

Only 1,512 SC/Ramblers were built, all in 1969. Each came with a numbered plaque on the console. The cars were assembled at Hurst in Michigan, then trucked to AMC dealers. AMC lost money on each one but gained publicity.
