History
Opel GT
The Opel GT brought exotic sports car styling to the masses with its dramatic Corvette-influenced design and unique manually-operated rotating headlights. Based on Kadett mechanicals with a more powerful Ascona engine, it delivered entertaining performance and sharp handling despite modest power. The fiberglass body kept weight down and gave it a distinctive appearance on European roads. While over 100,000 were built, the GT established Opel's sporting credentials and remains an affordable entry into classic car collecting with a devoted following.
