Lamborghini Islero

Named after the bull that killed famous matador Manolete, the Islero featured conservative styling by Marazzi rather than Lamborghini's usual flamboyance. Despite its subtle appearance, it packed the same 325-hp V12 as the Miura. The Islero S variant added 350 hp, revised bodywork, and improved interior appointments.

These rare Lamborghinis are difficult to find with only 225 built. Verify matching numbers through Lamborghini's Polo Storico department. Check for rust in floor pans and sills. The complex six-carburetor setup requires expert tuning. Parts availability is limited. Service history is critical given the hand-built nature of these cars.

Production lasted just two years from 1968 to 1969. Only 125 base Isleros and 100 Islero S models were produced. Bodies were built by Marazzi, who had split from Touring. The car was overshadowed by the exotic Miura and never achieved commercial success.
