History
BMW 2800 CS
The BMW 2800 CS inaugurated the legendary E9 coupe series with Wilhelm Hofmeister's elegant design executed by Karmann. The smooth inline-six engine provided effortless performance and a sophisticated character that four-cylinder models couldn't match. These coupes combined genuine sporting ability with grand touring refinement, establishing BMW's identity as a premium performance brand. The 2800 CS would evolve into hotter 3.0 CS variants and the legendary CSL racing homologations, but the original 2800 remains an elegant entry point into E9 ownership with just over 9,000 produced.
