Jensen FF

The Jensen FF, launched alongside the Interceptor in 1966, was a technological tour de force that pioneered features not commonly seen until decades later. The FF designation stood for Ferguson Formula, the four-wheel drive system developed by racing legend Harry Ferguson and used in Formula One. Combined with Dunlop Maxaret anti-lock braking system (adapted from aircraft technology), the FF offered safety and handling capabilities far beyond conventional sports cars of its era. The chassis was lengthened by 4 inches compared to the Interceptor to accommodate the transfer case and front differential. Power came from Chrysler's 6.3-liter (383 cubic inch) V8 producing 330 horsepower. The Ferguson system distributed torque variably between front and rear axles, providing remarkable traction in all conditions. Despite its technical sophistication and superior capabilities, the FF cost significantly more than the Interceptor, limiting sales. Only 320 examples were produced during its five-year run, making it exceptionally rare today. The FF can be distinguished from the Interceptor by its longer wheelbase, twin bonnet vents, and unique side vents.

$125,000 – $250,000

The Jensen FF is a rare collector's item requiring deep pockets and serious commitment. Verify authenticity carefully as some Interceptors have been converted. Check Ferguson AWD system functionality - repairs are nearly impossible if major components fail. Dunlop Maxaret ABS likely non-functional on most examples, many converted to standard brakes. Rust inspection even more critical than Interceptor as fewer examples exist for parts donors. Documented history and provenance essential for value. Join Jensen Owners Club FF register for technical support. Budget significantly more than Interceptor for maintenance. These are appreciating assets but must be maintained to preserve value. Not suitable for regular use - trailer to events and shows.
