History
Dodge Challenger T/A
The Challenger T/A was created to compete in SCCA Trans-Am racing, requiring production versions for homologation. Unlike typical muscle cars, it emphasized handling with heavy-duty suspension, wider tires on unique wheels, and revised steering. The 340 cubic-inch V8 featured triple two-barrel carburetors and made more power than officially rated. Distinctive side-exit exhaust pipes and a functional rear ducktail spoiler completed the race-bred appearance. Only 2,399 were built, making it one of the rarest and most desirable Challengers.
