Porsche 914 /6

The Porsche 914/6 represented the sporting pinnacle of the VW-Porsche collaboration. While most 914s used Volkswagen four-cylinder engines, the 914/6 received Porsche's 2.0-liter flat-six from the 911T, producing 110 horsepower. Combined with mid-engine balance and lightweight construction, it delivered genuine sports car performance. Only 3,351 examples were produced from 1969-1972, making it far rarer than the four-cylinder model and highly collectible today.

$55,000 – $125,000

914/6 models command significant premiums over four-cylinder variants. Verify engine numbers match factory records as some four-cylinder cars have been upgraded. Check for rust in battery box, rocker panels, and targa roof area. Original fuel injection components are costly. Well-preserved examples bring $55,000-125,000. Racing history adds value.

Production ran from 1969-1972 with 3,351 units built. The 914/6 used the same 2.0-liter flat-six as the 911T. It featured five-lug wheels, larger brakes, and upgraded suspension compared to four-cylinder models. Assembly took place at Karmann in Osnabrück.
