History
Moskvitch 412
The Moskvitch 412 featured a surprisingly sophisticated overhead cam engine in an otherwise conventional Soviet sedan body. The MZMA-designed engine was technically advanced for its era, offering good performance and reliability when properly maintained. The car competed with Lada for Soviet and export sales, with production occurring in multiple countries including Bulgaria under the Rila name. Build quality varied significantly depending on production location and era, but the basic design proved robust enough to remain in production for three decades.
