History
BMW 2000 CS
The BMW 2000 CS bridged BMW's recovery from near-bankruptcy to their emergence as a performance brand in the late 1960s. Styled by Bertone and Karmann, these handsome coupes featured the reliable four-cylinder engine from the Neue Klasse sedans in a lighter, more elegant package. With only 11,720 built including the 2000 C variant, they're considerably rarer than later CS coupes. The 2000 CS established the design language and sporting character that would culminate in the iconic E9 coupes and cement BMW's reputation as the ultimate driving machine.
