Glas 1700 GT
The Glas 1700 GT showcased Hans Glas GmbH's ambitions to compete in the sports coupe market with sophisticated engineering and beautiful Pietro Frua styling. The car featured an advanced overhead cam engine with unusual belt drive, independent rear suspension, and excellent build quality. Despite critical acclaim and motorsport success, small production volumes couldn't sustain the company financially. When BMW acquired Glas in 1966, they briefly continued production, and elements of Glas engineering influenced future BMW designs.
