History
Volvo P1800
The P1800 represented Volvo's venture into the sports car market with elegant Italian-influenced styling penned by Swedish designer Pelle Petterson. Made famous by Roger Moore in the TV series The Saint, the P1800 proved that Volvo could create beautiful cars without sacrificing their legendary durability. The B18 engine was later upgraded to the more powerful B20, and the car's excellent build quality was demonstrated by Irv Gordon's P1800S, which exceeded 3 million miles to become the highest-mileage car in the Guinness Book of Records.
