History
Amphicar 770
The Amphicar 770 was a bold experiment in dual-purpose vehicle design, featuring a sealed body and rear-mounted propellers. On land it drove like a conventional convertible, while in water it could reach 7 mph (7 knots). The Triumph Herald engine provided adequate power for both mediums, though performance was modest in each. Only about 3,800 were produced, making survivors highly sought after by collectors appreciating its unique novelty.
