History
Bandini 1000 P
Ilario Bandini's 1000 P adopted progressive mid-engine layout years before it became standard in sports racing. The tubular space frame chassis provided exceptional rigidity, while the Fiat-based engine sat behind the driver for optimal weight distribution. Handcrafted aluminum bodywork kept weight minimal and aerodynamics efficient. Despite tiny production numbers, the 1000 P earned numerous class victories in Italian endurance racing.
