Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica RWD 640hp
The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica, unveiled in 2022, was positioned as the sweet spot in the Huracan range, sitting between the comfort-oriented EVO RWD and the extreme, track-focused STO. The Tecnica combined the STO's 640-horsepower naturally aspirated V10 engine with a more road-friendly chassis setup and revised bodywork that balanced aerodynamic performance with visual drama.
The name Tecnica, meaning technique in Italian, referenced the car's philosophy: delivering the purest possible driving experience through technical refinement rather than brute force. The rear-wheel-drive layout was central to this philosophy, providing a directness and purity of communication that all-wheel-drive models could not replicate.
The 5.2-liter V10 engine, shared with the STO, produced 640 horsepower at 8000 rpm, the same output as the track car but delivered through a recalibrated seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with revised gear ratios optimized for road use. The engine's character remained quintessentially Lamborghini: dramatic, vociferous, and thrilling to rev to the 8500 rpm redline.
Aerodynamically, the Tecnica borrowed elements from the STO but with different priorities. The front splitter, side air intakes, and rear diffuser were redesigned to produce meaningful downforce while maintaining an acceptable level of road compliance. The fixed rear wing was more modest than the STO's, and the overall aerodynamic balance was tuned for high-speed stability rather than maximum cornering force.
The chassis received MagneRide adaptive dampers, rear-wheel steering, and a revised stability control system with multiple modes including a new Drift mode that allowed controlled oversteer without full electronic intervention. Carbon-ceramic brakes were standard, as was the LDVI (Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata) system that coordinated all dynamic systems.
The Tecnica's design was distinctive, with a unique front end, new Y-shaped headlights, and a full-width LED light bar at the rear that became the defining visual element. The hexagonal rear window and integrated ducktail spoiler gave the car a purposeful but not aggressive appearance.
As one of the final versions of the naturally aspirated V10 Huracan before its replacement by the hybrid Temerario, the Tecnica represents a significant collector opportunity: the last of the analog Lamborghini V10 supercars.
As a recent model, buy through authorized Lamborghini dealers. Verify complete specification as options add significantly to price. Carbon-ceramic brakes are standard. Check for track use signs if buying used. The dual-clutch gearbox is reliable but service intervals must be observed. Verify warranty status and transferability.
The Tecnica was introduced in 2022 as a bridge between the EVO RWD and STO. It shares the STO's 640hp V10 but with road-optimized chassis settings. Rear-wheel drive with rear-wheel steering. MagneRide adaptive dampers standard. The Tecnica is expected to be one of the last naturally aspirated V10 Lamborghinis before the hybrid Temerario arrives.
