Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

The Saleen S7 was Steve Saleen's audacious attempt to build an American supercar that could compete with Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren on their own terms. With its all-carbon-fiber body, mid-mounted Ford-derived V8 producing 750 horsepower, and race-derived pushrod suspension, the S7 Twin Turbo was briefly the fastest production car in the world at 248 mph. The bodywork generated significant downforce while maintaining striking good looks. The S7 proved that America could build a world-class exotic without relying on European engineering. Fewer than 100 were estimated to have been built in total, making it one of the rarest American cars of the 21st century.

$400,000 – $900,000

These are extremely rare — fewer than 100 built. Twin Turbo models are the ultimate version. Provenance and service history are critical. The Ford-derived engine uses custom components that are expensive to service. Only qualified exotic car specialists should work on these. Values have risen dramatically.

The S7 launched in 2000 with a naturally aspirated 550hp version. The Twin Turbo arrived in 2005 with 750hp. The S7R racing variant was highly successful in international GT racing. Total production estimated at fewer than 100 units across all variants.
