Donkervoort S8

Joop Donkervoort began building Lotus Seven-inspired sports cars in the Netherlands, creating an extreme driving experience focused on minimal weight and maximum feedback. The S8 used tubular space frame chassis with fiberglass body and various Ford or Audi engines. Weighing barely 585 kg, even modest power provided extraordinary performance and handling. Each car was essentially hand-built to customer specification, establishing Donkervoort as the Netherlands' premier performance car manufacturer, a position the company maintains today.
