Aston Martin V8 Vantage

When launched in 1977, the V8 Vantage claimed the title of 'Britain's First Supercar' with devastating performance that shocked the automotive world. Its uprated 5.3-liter V8 with four Weber carburetors produced 380 hp, propelling the heavy GT to a genuine 170 mph. Distinguished by a blanked-off grille, bonnet bulge, and deeper front spoiler, the Vantage was unmistakable. Hand-built at Newport Pagnell using traditional methods, each car took months to complete. The combination of massive performance, luxurious interior, and exclusivity made it the ultimate British grand tourer of its era.

Verify chassis number and build specification carefully. Early quad-headlight cars are most valuable. Check for corrosion in steel bodywork - aluminum panels bonded to steel frame can hide issues. Weber carburetors require expert setup. Service history critical for these complex hand-built cars. Many have been modified - originality important for value. Budget for significant maintenance costs.

534 V8 Vantage models were built from 1977 to 1989 across several series. Early cars had quad headlights, later models adopted single headlights. Each was hand-built with extensive customer customization available. Oscar India specification (1985+) added fuel injection and revised styling.
