The Fairmont GS provided a sophisticated approach to performance, combining the Cleveland V8's power with luxury appointments and subdued styling. It appealed to buyers who wanted strong performance without the overt aggressive appearance of GT models. The XB generation featured some of the most attractive styling Ford Australia ever produced.
