History
Saab 99 EMS
The Saab 99 EMS featured Bosch electronic fuel injection, making it one of the first mainstream cars to use this advanced technology for improved performance and efficiency. The EMS badge denoted Electronic Manual Special, combining the injected engine with a four-speed manual transmission and sport-oriented suspension tuning. With 118 horsepower from the 2.0-liter four-cylinder, it offered the best naturally aspirated performance available in the 99 lineup and established the template for Saab's future performance variants, paving the way for the turbo revolution.
