DAF 66

The DAF 66 represented the final evolution of the independent Dutch automaker before Volvo's acquisition. It featured a larger 1.3-liter Renault engine and refined Variomatic CVT with improved reliability. The styling was more modern than previous DAFs, with distinctive coupe and sedan variants available. After Volvo purchased DAF's passenger car division in 1975, the 66 continued as the Volvo 66, maintaining the unique CVT transmission that had made DAF famous.
