History
Zastava 1300
The Zastava 1300 was a license-built version of the Fiat 1300, adapted for Yugoslav production and market conditions. These vehicles featured more robust construction than their Italian counterparts to handle poor road conditions common in Yugoslavia and export markets. The simple mechanicals and good parts availability made them popular across Eastern Europe and developing countries. Production continued long after Fiat discontinued the original model, with Zastava making gradual improvements while maintaining the basic design.
