Dodge Coronet R/T Convertible

The 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T Convertible represented the pinnacle of convertible muscle cars. While the Coronet R/T was available as a coupe or convertible, the drop-top version was far rarer with only 259 produced. The R/T package came standard with the 440 Magnum engine producing 375 horsepower, with the legendary 426 Hemi available as an option. The convertible featured all the R/T performance goodies including heavy-duty suspension, dual exhausts, and special badging, combined with the appeal of open-air motoring. The 1969 styling was aggressive and distinctive with its split grille and muscular proportions.

$75,000 – $145,000

Extreme rarity means thorough authentication is essential. Verify with fender tag and broadcast sheet. Check for typical Mopar rust in quarters, trunk floor, and frame rails. Convertible top mechanism should function properly. Hemi-equipped examples are worth significantly more.

Only 259 Coronet R/T convertibles were produced in 1969, making it one of the rarest Mopar muscle cars. Most R/T buyers chose the lighter hardtop coupe. The convertible's extra weight and structural flex made it less desirable for straight-line performance.
