Daimler SP250 Dart

The Daimler SP250 featured a lightweight fiberglass body over a steel chassis, powered by Daimler's new 2.5-liter V8 engine designed by Edward Turner. Originally called the Dart until Dodge objected, it offered genuine sports car performance with a top speed over 120 mph. Its controversial styling, with prominent headlight fins, was criticized but the car found favor with police forces. After Jaguar acquired Daimler in 1960, production continued but the model never achieved commercial success, with only 2,654 built.
