Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport

The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport represents a fundamental philosophical departure within the Chiron family. While the standard Chiron and the Super Sport 300+ pursued straight-line velocity records, the Pur Sport was engineered from the ground up to be the most agile, responsive, and driver-focused Bugatti ever created. Limited to just 60 examples worldwide, it brought a new dimension to the Chiron platform.

The Pur Sport retains the standard Chiron's quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine producing 1,500 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque, but the transformation lies in how that power is deployed. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission was completely reworked with gear ratios that are 15 percent shorter overall. This means the Pur Sport accelerates through each gear more aggressively, with the engine spending more time in its powerband. The result is a car that feels dramatically more urgent and responsive, even though its electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h is lower than the standard Chiron.

The chassis received equally thorough attention. Spring rates were increased by 65 percent at the front and 33 percent at the rear, with new adaptive damper programming that dramatically reduces body roll during cornering. The anti-roll bars are stiffer, and the steering has been recalibrated for greater feedback and precision. New magnesium alloy wheels reduce unsprung mass by 16 kilograms, improving both ride quality and handling response.

Visually, the Pur Sport is distinguished by its enormous fixed rear wing, replacing the standard Chiron's active aerodynamic system. This wing generates significantly more downforce at lower speeds, reflecting the car's focus on lateral grip rather than outright velocity. The front splitter and rear diffuser have also been redesigned to work in concert with the fixed wing. The overall aerodynamic package generates 10 percent more downforce while reducing drag by a comparable margin.

Weight savings were pursued throughout the car. The exhaust system is titanium, and extensive use of carbon fiber extends to components that are steel or aluminum in the standard Chiron. The interior features exposed carbon fiber, Alcantara rather than leather in many areas, and a general philosophy of functional lightness. Total weight savings amount to approximately 50 kilograms compared to the standard Chiron.

The Pur Sport debuted in 2020 and all 60 units sold out immediately. Each example was extensively personalized through Bugatti's Sur Mesure customization program, meaning no two are alike. The car demonstrated that even the most powerful production car in the world could be transformed into a genuinely engaging driver's car.

All 60 units were pre-sold to existing Bugatti clients. Secondary market examples command significant premiums. Verify build specification against Bugatti factory records. Check for any track use damage as some owners have used these cars in anger. The unique fixed rear wing components are bespoke and extremely expensive to repair.

Limited to exactly 60 units worldwide. Each car was personalized through Bugatti's bespoke program. Production began in late 2020 and completed in 2021. Final assembly requires approximately six months per car at the Bugatti atelier in Molsheim.
