Tesla Model 3 Performance

The Tesla Model 3 is arguably the most important car of the 21st century. It proved that electric vehicles could be desirable, practical, and affordable (relatively). The Performance variant takes the formula to another level — dual motors produce 450 horsepower and launch the car to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, matching supercars that cost ten times as much. The Model 3's minimalist interior, centered around a 15-inch touchscreen, redefined automotive interior design. Over-the-air updates continuously improve the car. The Model 3 became the world's best-selling electric car and the best-selling premium sedan in the US, outselling the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class, and Audi A4 combined.

$25,000 – $45,000

Performance models hold value best. Check battery health via the onboard diagnostics. Look for panel gap issues on early production cars. Autopilot/FSD capability adds value. The minimalist interior isn't for everyone. Supercharger network access is a major ownership advantage.

The Model 3 launched in July 2017 after record-breaking 400,000+ reservations. Production ramp-up was famously difficult — Elon Musk called it 'production hell.' The car is produced at Fremont, California and Shanghai, China. A refreshed 'Highland' version launched in 2023.
