Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA
The 1989 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA represented the pinnacle of third-generation F-body development. GTA stood for 'Gran Turismo Americano' and delivered on that promise with the potent 350 cubic inch Tuned Port Injection V8 producing 250 horsepower, sophisticated WS6 performance suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and 16-inch wheels with performance tires. The aerodynamic wedge styling featured ground effects, functional hood louvers, and the iconic Trans Am screaming chicken hood decal. Inside, leather sport seats, full digital instrumentation, and premium sound system provided luxury to match the performance. The GTA could hit 150 mph while delivering surprising comfort and refinement.
