History
Fissore Fiat 124 Scout
Antonio Fissore's Turin coachbuilding firm created the Scout as a stylish alternative to traditional utility vehicles, anticipating the lifestyle SUV concept by decades. Based on Fiat 124 mechanicals, it featured a shortened wheelbase, reinforced chassis, and distinctive open bodywork with removable soft top. The Scout was marketed as both a practical work vehicle and a recreational runabout. Production was limited, with perhaps 500-800 units built before Fissore shifted focus to other projects. Its rarity and unusual concept make it highly collectible today.
