History
GAZ 24 Volga
The GAZ-24 Volga became the quintessential Soviet automobile, serving multiple roles from government transport to taxi service throughout the USSR. Its robust construction featured high ground clearance, strong chassis, and simple mechanicals designed to withstand poor road conditions and extreme temperatures. The spacious interior could accommodate six passengers, and the reliable 2.4-liter engine provided adequate performance while being easy to service. This model established the Volga nameplate as a symbol of Soviet automotive engineering and reliability.
