History
Lombardi Grand Prix 850
Francis Lombardi's company in Vercelli produced small-volume sports cars and modified Fiats. The Grand Prix 850 featured a stylish fiberglass body designed to compete with other Italian sports coupes of the era. Using the reliable Fiat 850 rear-engine platform, Lombardi improved performance through weight reduction and aerodynamic refinement. The Grand Prix name reflected the car's sporting aspirations, though most were used as fast road cars rather than competition vehicles. Production lasted only a few years with limited numbers built, making survivors quite rare.
