History
Polski Fiat 125p
The Polski Fiat 125p was manufactured in Poland under license from Fiat, becoming one of the most common cars in the Eastern Bloc. While based on the Italian Fiat 125, the Polish version featured numerous modifications for local conditions including reinforced construction and simplified equipment. Production continued long after Fiat discontinued the model, with Polish engineers making incremental improvements. The 125p became a cultural icon in Poland and exported widely to other communist countries and developing markets worldwide.
