History
Porsche 912
The Porsche 912 was created to fill the price gap left when the 356 was discontinued and the 911 proved too expensive for many buyers. Using the proven pushrod four-cylinder engine from the 356SC in the 911 body shell, it offered genuine Porsche experience at a more accessible price. The lighter engine improved weight distribution compared to the 911, giving the 912 excellent handling characteristics. Initially dismissed as a lesser Porsche, it's now appreciated as a pure driver's car in its own right.
