History
Sunbeam Venezia
Built by Carrozzeria Touring in Milan, the Sunbeam Venezia featured elegant Italian coachwork over Hillman Super Minx running gear. Only 145 were produced, all hand-built, making it one of the rarest Rootes Group products. The concept was to create an upmarket GT car without the development costs of an all-new model. However, the high price and limited performance from the 1.6-liter engine meant sales were disappointing. Each car took considerable time to build, and Touring's financial difficulties ended production after just two years.
