Wolseley Hornet
BMC created the Wolseley Hornet to attract customers wanting Mini space efficiency with more conventional styling and upmarket appointments. The extended tail provided useful additional luggage space and more balanced proportions than the standard Mini. Interior trim featured polished wood, better seats, and comprehensive instrumentation befitting the Wolseley name. Though mechanically near-identical to the basic Mini, the Hornet successfully commanded a price premium through its traditional prestige badging and refined presentation.
