History
Siam Di Tella 1500
Siam Di Tella built automobiles under license from British Motor Corporation, adapting BMC designs for Argentine market. The 1500 combined British engineering with local manufacturing and became widely used as taxis and family transportation. The company represented Argentina's mid-century industrial development ambitions. Production quality was good for the era, and the cars were well-suited to Argentine conditions. Siam Di Tella ceased automobile production in 1966 to focus on other industrial activities.
