Riley 1.5 Saloon

The Riley 1.5 emerged from BMC's controversial badge-engineering program, sharing its basic structure with the Morris Minor and Wolseley 1500. Despite corporate platform-sharing, Riley maintained some distinction through its twin-carburettor engine specification, leather upholstery, and traditional Riley grille. The combination of BMC reliability with Riley's sporting heritage created a pleasant if unremarkable compact saloon. It represented the final chapter of independent Riley engineering before the marque became purely cosmetic.
